The well maidens

Long ago, you could find a well maiden at every holy well in the British isles. She would offer a weary traveller a bite to eat and a drink of water from the well to nourish them physically and spiritually for their journey ahead.

In those days, the king of the land was in a sacred contract with the earth, the mother Goddess, to be a steward and protect the body of the mother and all her children. This stewardship was not ownership, it was a duty of service to be undertaken by the worthiest of men.

Then there came a king who violated the sacred contract, who did not respect the mother and the feminine. When he came upon a well maiden and she offered him sustenance, instead he took her body against her will. Taking the lead from their king, his men then violated every well maiden around the country.

It it said that the goddess then departed from the world, rendering it a wasteland where the feminine force was hidden deep underground. They say the king still lives in this wasteland now, bleeding from his thigh, waiting for the one who will come and say - what ails thee?

The well maiden's chalice is a womb symbol, the sweet water of life that lives within every woman where nourishment is dispensed graciously. When we reclaim the chalice of the womb we reclaim the legacy of the well maidens. We know very well what is ailing the king, he has abused the gifts of the feminine, taken more than he ought and tossed her aside, and now all are suffering.

As women we are the chalice bearers and we rise up, remembering that we are where life comes from. We hold all of creation cradled in our wombs. We are the well which never runs dry, the life/death/life mysteries of the universe that keep the wheel turning, as souls are born and return to the cosmic womb for rebirth, as bodies are birthed and returned to the earth womb to nourish the soil.

The truth is when you're a woman, the veil is always thin

When you're a woman, the veil is always thin.

You may see lots of messages about the veil thinning this time of year, and it's true that we often feel the ancestors closer as the days become darker. But let us not forget that women are keepers of the mysteries and adept at dancing between the veils.

The whole year is a time for diving into the deep, for hearing the whispers of the foremothers, for following inner guidance that comes from many lives lived before.

Women are born with one foot on the spiritual plane and one on the earthly. The two planes meet within a woman's body that holds the mystery of life and death, the mysteries of the womb and the womb of the universe.

There is never a time when you are alone, there is never a time that you don't have countless invisible beings ready to blur the boundaries between physical and non physical to let you feel their presence.

This video was taken by my daughter in the Avalon marshes, as we walked the Neolithic trail that our ancestors made over 5000 years ago. The air felt heavy with spirits and memories.

I've added another date for my Motherline workshop next year for those of you that missed out. As an experienced women's healer and space holder for ten years now it is my delight to share this work with you.

Through my healing work I meet many grandmothers in the womb space, and I have a personal ongoing practice of inviting the dead to support my work initiatives and enrich my personal relationships. This will be a magical event.

The womb path is radical because it's women reclaiming their power to create and birth what they truly desire

I talk about the womb path being the root path, because the mysteries of the womb are the original spiritual practice. Women's bodies and blood mysteries were a way of understanding the world, god, life, death. The woman holds the mysteries of the universe in her pelvic bowl.

The word radical is often used to mean innovative, daring and new. But it actually means "root". The radical path is the root path. The original path. Stripping away all that's unnecessary and leaving only what is True.

For so long women have been told that their desires are sinful and their hearts cannot be trusted. When we return to the womb path we reclaim our energy that is being siphoned from us by the world around us and create and birth from the place of love that is within.

Women who have been on the womb path for more than one lifetime often find their energies being borrowed by others in some way. Their womb power is a commodity to be used by others. The womb begins to whisper, and then she begins to scream.

What would it mean to remember your heart's desires are good and true?

What would it mean to reclaim your power to birth what YOU truly want?

There are a couple of spaces left for my Shamanic Womb Healing workshop on 26th October. You can also dive into the womb mysteries in my online course Sacred Womb Journeys, or through one to ones.
