The womb path is radical because it's women reclaiming their power to create and birth what they truly desire
I talk about the womb path being the root path, because the mysteries of the womb are the original spiritual practice. Women's bodies and blood mysteries were a way of understanding the world, god, life, death. The woman holds the mysteries of the universe in her pelvic bowl.
The word radical is often used to mean innovative, daring and new. But it actually means "root". The radical path is the root path. The original path. Stripping away all that's unnecessary and leaving only what is True.
For so long women have been told that their desires are sinful and their hearts cannot be trusted. When we return to the womb path we reclaim our energy that is being siphoned from us by the world around us and create and birth from the place of love that is within.
Women who have been on the womb path for more than one lifetime often find their energies being borrowed by others in some way. Their womb power is a commodity to be used by others. The womb begins to whisper, and then she begins to scream.
What would it mean to remember your heart's desires are good and true?
What would it mean to reclaim your power to birth what YOU truly want?
There are a couple of spaces left for my Shamanic Womb Healing workshop on 26th October. You can also dive into the womb mysteries in my online course Sacred Womb Journeys, or through one to ones.
Doulas are servants of the mystery
As birth workers we bring a unique wisdom of experience to each family that we serve, but what I have learned the most in the last decade of attending birth is that I will only ever be a servant of the mystery.
Birthworkers hold the original design for birth in our heart and often in our bodies. But that is just the beginning of wisdom. What does it mean to hold space at the threshold of life and death? To be able to accept things as they are and not as they "should" be, from our limited perspective. To be able to hold the cosmic and the physical as one entwined reality.
You will learn at the altar of birth that you know nothing, while simultaneously you are part of the All that Knows.
Birth cracks a woman open and rebuilds her as a mother. For birth attendants, we will also be cracked open in ways that we need to be. Our limitations will be revealed to us. Space will be made for the mystery to enter.
Souls coming through come from a place of such love and nonduality that we would not be able to hold it if we could see the entirety of their design. So we are shown in fragments, in glimpses and synchronicities, dreams and intuitions.
I learn from you, you learn from me, and the wisdom is never depleted from the giving away it just grows and grows as we dance together in the cosmic mystery.
There is so much ongoing conversation about what a doula is or isn't, doula meaning "servant" or "slave", so many out there trying to reinvent and reimagine the role. To me it means to serve at the altar of birth with love, faith and humility.
To my daughter on her birthday
Seven years ago today I birthed my beautiful daughter into the world. A baby girl whose spirit I carried on my shoulder, a soul whose weight of desire to exist made it's presence known daily, who defied the odds of creation and made me truly understand that conception begins in the heart of the womb which only knows love and truth.
She never ceases to amaze me with her understanding of the spiritual and the physical, her astonishing memory and curiosity. Her ability to be both ancient and child. Her vital force that infuses everything she does with passion and purpose.
My freebirth baby who encoded in me the original blueprint for birth so I would never forget the rawness of the wild and holy design.
I hope I will have the honour of being your mother again, although as you say, next time you can be the mummy and I'll be the little girl.
I hope to continue to show you that your pockets are overflowing with ancestors and angels and guides, then next time you can share this wisdom with me and help me to remember.
