The Rosary

What is rewilding prayer?

Akin to rewilding women and liberating them from patriarchal constructs so they can live according to their true divine nature, rewilding prayer is liberating prayer from a history where it has been used as punishment and reclaiming it for ourselves for healing, growth and deep inner peace.

Prayer is a conversation with the Divine. It is a way to whisper the secrets of our heart to something or somebody we believe in. It is a way to find out what truly matters to us, a way to find peace and calm in a busy life. It is an intimate union with the earth, the sea, the sky, the cosmos. What a relief to know there is a way to ask for help and get answers!

Studies done on patients in hospitals reveal that those who are prayed for recover better than those who aren’t. I am always saying prayers and lighting candles for those in need, and often have people messaging me asking me to do this for them. I see candles as holding the power of the prayer and acting as a beacon of light for divine spirits to see my request and come to my aid.

Sacred Heart of Mary

The rosary is an ancient tradition that began when people began weaving crowns of flowers for the Mother Goddess. It also evolved from the hand-held fertility Goddess statues our ancestors cherished and held in times of need to feel connected to the Great Mother.

The Rosary honours the incredible life-giving power of woman contrary to the creation stories

“Rosary” means rose garden, which is also another name for a woman’s sexual organs. The traditional rosary with a cross at the end hangs so that it makes the symbol for Venus, for woman. It was a way for our ancestors to preserve the divine feminine in a patriarchal society. Mary is the one we call upon when we pray the rosary and she encompasses the line of Holy Mothers including Isis, Venus, Inanna, etc. When we pray we use soothing mantras, going round in a circle and calling on the divine feminine and masculine. Together they make hieros gamos, divine union, sacred relationship.

Each “decade” consists of three prayers, the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be. Traditionally you would think about a story from Mary’s life based on the Bible for each decade, revealing the divine feminine mystery of life, death and rebirth.

At the beginning of each decade I often I think of a loved one or situation I most need help with, and let the familiar sound of the mantra soothe me. Talk to Her as to a much loved Mother and know that your prayers are heard. See how prayer can deepen your life. Pray while walking in nature, while waiting for a child to fall asleep, in a queue.

In the original Our Father prayer as spoken by Jesus, he addresses the Father-Mother and refers to the “Queendom” of heaven rather than Kingdom. There is more about this prayer further down.

Each “Hail Mary” is considered equivalent to a single flower that forms the flower crown, crowning Her as Queen of Heaven and Earth. Psychics, artists and mystics often pray the rosary as it helps you access your subconscious mind, intuition and creativity.

From Ana Otero's book “Mary Magdalene and the Teachings of the Desert Rose”

The “Hail Mary” represents the triple Goddess:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee = the Goddess in her maiden aspect welcoming her lover
Blessed art Thou among women and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb = the Goddess in her mother aspect pregnant with life
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now, and at the hour of our death = the Goddess in her crone aspect, bringing us back into her womb after death

Perdita Finn, rosary expert, has likened the rosary to a tangible umbilical cord connecting us to Mother Earth, and the beads that we worry between our fingers like nipples that babies play with for comfort.

Kinesiologist Dr David Hawkins tested the rosary and it had a vibrational level of 515, the level of love.

The Prayers

Our Father
Our Father
Who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For love is the kingdom
The power and the glory
Forever and ever
Amen

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee
Blessed art Thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of Thy womb
Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for us now
And at the hour of our death
Amen

Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Mother, and to the Holy Child
As it was in the beginning
Is now and ever shall be
World without end, life without end, love never ends

Hail, Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy
Our life, our sweetness and our hope
To You do we cry out, poor banished children of Eve
To You do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears
Turn then, most gracious advocate, Thine eyes of mercy towards us
And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of Your womb, Jesus
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ

Memorare! (this prayer can be used on its own in times of need for specific issues)
Remember! O most gracious Virgin Mary
That never was it known that anyone who fled to Your protection, implored Your help, or sought Your intercession was ever left unaided
Inspired with this confidence I fly unto you, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother
To You I come, before You I stand, sinful and sorrowful
O Mother of the word incarnate, despise not my petitions but in Your clemency, hear and answer me, Amen.

For more rosary magic and wisdom I highly recommend the book “The Way of the Rose” by Perdita Finn and Clark Strand.

The original "Our Father"

Many people struggle with the “Our Father” prayer as it reminds them of religious abuse they have experienced. When Jesus (Yeshua) taught this prayer to his disciples, he spoke in Aramaic. Aramaic is a feminine language with multiple possible interpretations which cannot be conveyed in the translations. Think of the Bible as the google translate of what Yeshua actually said!

One interpretation of the Our Father in Aramaic goes like this:

O Birther! Father-Mother of the Cosmos, you create all that moves in light
Focus your light within us - make it useful - as the rays of a beacon show the way
Create your reign of unity now - through our fiery hearts and willing hands
Your one desire then acts with ours, as in all light, so in all forms
Grant what we need each day in bread and insight, subsistence for the call of growing life
Loose the cords of mistakes binding us
as we release the strands we hold of others’ guilt
Don’t let us enter forgetfulness
But free us from unripeness.

The book “Prayer of the Cosmos” has many other beautiful possible translations.

The Druid Prayer can be used as an alternative to the “Our Father”

O Goddess grant us thy protection

And in protection, strength

In strength, understanding

In understanding, knowledge

In knowledge, the knowledge of justice

In the knowledge of justice, the love of it

In the love of it, the love of all existences

And in the love of all existences, the love of Goddess and all goodness
